Welcome!
Thank you for visiting!
This semester, Ms. Alicia and I taught a mini-investigation on kitchen chemistry in a preschool setting. We used the ACCESS curriculum developed at the Bombeck Center.
This semester, Ms. Alicia and I taught a mini-investigation on kitchen chemistry in a preschool setting. We used the ACCESS curriculum developed at the Bombeck Center.
Our mini-investigation consisted of determining the children's interests, presenting a hook activity to find out what they already know and want to learn, and four lessons on aspects of kitchen chemistry.
The navigation tabs will guide you through this site to find out what ACCESS is, what kitchen chemistry is, and how we incorporated both of these things into the preschool classroom. Each of the lessons is described in detail to help everyone understand what went on in our mini-investigation.
I have also included pictures of the children doing several of the lessons in a slideshow below.
