Concept Planner
The topic for the investigation in our classroom was kitchen chemistry. Once we had decided on this topic, we wrote out a list of all of the concepts that make up the topic, such as chromatography, phases of matter, reactions, and density. We put these in a concept planner, listed below, and described some of the science facts that each topic included.
After this we moved on to create Science Concept Planner 3, pictured at the bottom of the page. We listed not only our topic and main concepts, but also some activities that could be done in each of the concept areas. For each activity we added standards and developmental domains that could be used with the activity. On the planner listed below, I highlighted the four activities that Ms. Alicia and I then decided to use in our lessons with our classroom.
